about

Magpie is about growing up, learning from mistakes, and a reminder to never make yourself small for the benefit of others. It was produced and mixed by Stephen Mowat (Tyne-James Organ) and mastered by George Georgiadis (Matt Corby). It follows Kaitlin's last EP alone is too loud.

lyrics

Old name on a green street sign
Parents push their baby stroller
seeing colour for the very first time
Wonder who’ll they’ll be when they’re older
Magpie leaves the nest to fly
will it be a sorry soldier
Go out into the world live it’s life
Wish I could be braver bolder
Hear your words
Promise me you won’t hold back
The world can make you feel small
Honestly it’s not all bad
Don’t try to walk before you crawl
Some birds never learn to fly
But that’s
not something to think over
gotta let go and learn to live life
then I will be braver bolder
Hear your words
Promise me you won’t hold back
The world can make you feel small
Honestly it’s not so bad
Don’t try to walk before you crawl
And I wonder do you see in colour
Or just in a vast scale of grey
Was that the wrong thing to say
I’ll be bolder
When I get older
learn not to run from mistakes
That I make
Promise me you won’t hold back
The world can make you feel small
Honestly it’s n
ot so bad
Don’t try to walk before you crawl
Promise me you won’t hold back
The world can make you feel small
Honestly it’s not so bad
Don’t try to walk before you crawl
Don’t try to walk before you crawl
